Questions people usually ask

Is this event actually free?

Yes. Entry is completely free and there is no obligation to sign up with AusAsia afterward. We're there to answer questions and help you understand your options.

I just finished my A-Levels and have no idea what pathway is right for me. Is this still for me?

Yes, that's exactly who this event is for. Bring your results (or your predicted grades) and we'll talk through realistic study and migration options together, one to one.

Can I get PR if I study in Australia?

There are established pathways from study to post-study work and, for some, on to skilled migration, but no agent can guarantee a PR or visa outcome for you, and we won't pretend otherwise. We'll walk you through what's realistic for your situation at the event.

I'm a registered nurse in Sri Lanka. Can I work as a nurse in Australia?

Many nurses do move through a recognition and registration process to work in Australia. The exact steps depend on your qualifications and experience. Mr Simon Schweigert from IHM Australia and our team will explain the pathway in detail at the event.

I'm under 18. Can I come by myself?

You're welcome either way, but we'd recommend bringing a parent or guardian along, especially if you're still weighing up big decisions like this one.

What should I bring with me?

Nothing is compulsory, but it helps to bring a copy of your academic results or transcripts, your passport if you have one, and, for nurses, your registration documents.

Is AusAsia actually licensed to give migration advice?

Yes. Dr Niroshan Ranaweera is a MARA-registered migration agent (MARN 2318245), a Licensed Immigration Adviser in New Zealand, and a Qualified Education Agent Counsellor, alongside ICEF and Migration Institute of Australia credentials.

Do I need to register before the event?

Registering in advance helps us prepare for you and means we can notify you the moment your session's venue is confirmed, so it's worth doing even if you're not 100% sure yet.
